Chief Title Examiner

Please join REBA’s Paralegal and Title Insurance & National Affairs Sections for a webinar at 12 noon on Thursday, February 16th.  Christina Geaney, Chief Title Examiner of the Land Court, will present.

Attorney Geaney will discuss the Land Court Guidelines, several of which have been updated and modified by various memoranda to the Districts issued by the Chief Title Examiner, which have been posted on the Court’s web site and circulated throughout the real estate community. She will emphasize the importance of reviewing changes made to the current 2009 version and address plans to update the Guidelines.

She will also discuss the most common reasons documents are rejected when presented for filing at the Districts. By raising awareness of the more frequent problems, Attorney Geaney hopes to assist the conveyancer in preparing acceptable documents for filing.

Attorney Geaney will briefly address any other matters of importance and provide time for questions.

This webcast program, open to all REBA members, is from 12 to 1 pm on Thursday, February 16, 2023.
